Focused on building the new steel industry in Saudi Arabia in line with the Vision 2030 targets, the National Committee for Steel Industry (NCSI) has started the new calendar year with a decision on who will take the sector’s helm. This news has brought confidence to the representatives of the domestic steel industry.

NCSI has approved its management team for the new session, which will last during 2021-2023. Eng. Rayed Abdullah Al-Ajaji kept its position of the committee’s chairman, while Eng. Ahmad Al-Shangiti and counsellor Mohammed Al Jabr were re-elected as vice-chairmen, according to the official statement. This decision was made on December 29, 2020.

It is believed that the committee will continue to move forward in the long process of developing the national steel industry, supporting it on the local and global levels. The Saudi market players are confident that ongoing changes in the Kingdom will be completed. “The synergy between the NCSI and the manufacturers is strong. Although the transformation process takes time, we are on the right path,” a local steel producer told Metal Expert.
